Kitchen Holiday Gift Guide 2019

By now you’re all shopping for the holidays, and maybe by now you aren’t sure what to get that special home chef in your life? Gifting can be a tough one, so i’ve gathered up a small list of my favorite kitchen gadgets—things I use on a weekly basis to cook, some to read, and a few things i’m just dang excited to get later on!

INSTANT POT LUX 6 in 1 PRESSURE COOKER 6QT

This is by far one of the most used gadgets in my kitchen. I received it as a gift a year ago and it’s been used every week to whip up quick dinners, broths, meal prep, etc. It also has a slow cook option (though it’s mainly meant for pressure cooking). I found this one worth every penny. There’s tons of different models and sizes to choose from. So take your pick!

INSTANT POT BRAND SOUS VIDE COOKER

For the entertainer in your life. We got this for a wedding gift and we use it all the time to make perfect steaks and chicken breasts. It’s especially helpful when you have guests coming. Just get it going a few hrs ahead and you’ll have perfectly cooked meat—zero worry something wont be done or overdone—each time.

LODGE CAST IRON DUTCH OVEN 6 QT

If I could only have 1 thing in my kitchen…it would be a dutch oven. I love how they work for braising meats, baking artisan breads, stove top soups. Literally anything can be cooked in one. They can be used in the oven or on stove tops. The lid traps heat and you can use it like a slow cooker. I just love it.

THE FOOD LAB

This is essentially a textbook on how to use science to perfect and streamline your cooking at home. It’s massive and i’ve been slowly making my way through it. It’s an amazing fountain of knowledge that’s debunked many a methods ive always been taught. I love this book and it’s worth the textbook price honestly. If you’re looking to improve your cooking this or my other favorite Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat (a lighter read I assure you) would make a great gift for the home cook whose looking to perfect their technique.

KITCHEN AID STAND MIXER

Arguably, an investment rather than a gift, a good stand mixer is vital for the baker in your life. I love to bake but have found all kinds of uses for this (shredding chicken, mixing a meatloaf together), and couldn’t imagine not using one now. It’s a luxury item, yes, but it would make a great show stopping gift for the baker in your life.

.5 Lt WECK JARS

These are my favorite glass canning/storing jars. I use them to store coffee, fresh aioli, salsas, sauces, etc in my fridge. I love the vintage look, their durability, and the shapes and sizes they come in. Easily the best glass air tight storage you can find. Know someone who loves to can? These are perfect for canning!

WOMEN ON FOOD

Women on Food is a collection of women’s voices on the food and restaurant industry. I haven’t read it yet but absolutely can’t wait to hear what all these strong, thoughtful women have to say about an industry im fascinated with.

HEARTH & HAND GLAZED STONEWARE SERVING PLATTER

This serving platter is my favorite for serving up main courses to guests—especially around the holidays. I love the finish and how affordable it is.

THERMOPRO MEAT THERMOMETER

Every kitchen needs a meat thermometer to test for perfectly cooked meat—this one even has a temperature chart on the back! A perfect stocking stuffer.

NOTHING FANCY BY ALISON ROMAN

This book is amazing! I love her recipes and her first cookbook is a go to for weeknight and entertaining recipes! She’s a brilliant cook and a large source of inspiration for me.

IMMERSION BLENDER

I LOVE having an immersion blender to make quick mayo, homemade sauces, blended soups, and blend pretty much anything that needs blending with this thing. It takes up little space and is easy to clean!

THE DEFINED DISH BY ALEX SNODGRASS

The Defined Dish is my hero. She has been such an inspiration and source for me as i’ve started my blog. She makes brilliant and delicious food. Of all the people you could follow online for recipes and inspo, she is IT. Im so excited for this book to come out Dec 31st. You can preorder it now! Which I highly encourage. Check her website out and follow her on Instagram! You will not regret it.
